Cyprus Astronomical Society was established in 1990 by a group of professional and amateur astronomers living in Cyprus.

The Cyprus Astronomical Society is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to raising the public's awareness about the science of astronomy and bring people near astronomy.

C.A.S. can organize any astronomy event for your local school and your community.

In the passing years many Astronomical nights have taken place as well as various lectures in matters of Astronomy. The main purpose though of the Cyprus Astronomical Society is building an observatory. For many years this seemed a remote goal.

C.A.S. committee now is looking for a suitable place for the observatory on Troodos mountain.

Our website has been selected to receive the Griffith Observatory Star Award for the week of Aug. 17 - 23 2003 for excellence in promoting astronomy to the public through the World Wide Web.
